An Open Letter to Patrick Roberts

Dear Patrick,

In your time here, you will no doubt have personal and professional memories that will no doubt last a lifetime. You have given us memories which will last generations. Since signing in 2022 you have given your all and while you have had your critics, you kept your head down and worked. That’s all we ever ask of a player that represents our club.

Many a player has come and gone through our brilliant club. Some players leave a legacy, some become cult hero’s and some become villains. I think as time goes on, you will cement a special place in our clubs history, your goal against Sheffield Wednesday in the League 1 play off semi finals and your incredible pass to Mayenda in the Championship play off final against Sheffield United started the biggest comeback in the clubs history.

I really do hope you remember your time here fondly and the club always leaves the door open for you.

You were part of the hardest days and a key part of best days. We may never be able to repay you, but we will never stop thanking you.
