Fee Agreed For Jobe
Mr “Here We go” has given the update we all knew was coming but kind of hoped it didn’t. Sunderland A.F.C has agreed a transfer deal with German club Borussia Dortmund in the region believed to be around 33 million Euros including add ons. There has also been a reported sell on clause of 15% meaning when Jobe doesn’t follow in his brothers footsteps again, the club will getting another windfall. While this opening may come across as bitter, I wish nothing but success for Jobe. He has given his all during his time here and as summed up quite well by WTF podcast “He wore the shirt with the pride and respect it deserved” which is all you can ever ask from a player who graces the red and white stripes.
At the tme of writing there has been nothing official from Speakman and co but Jobe was in Germany today completing his medical and no doubt doing some media bits for Dortmund. One thing I am glad about is that he isn’t signing for another Premier League club. I think we have recognise Jobe’s contribution over the last 2 years with the lads as vital in getitng promotion. His ability to drive through tackles and power forward pushing teams back often played a huge part in the team scoring goals. He was a presence in either box as well and was always happy to track back disrupt play.
Jobe will become Sunderland’s highest ever fee recieved for a player and Dortmunds most expensive signing ever. This all means we have a lot to work with after the sales of Stewart, Clarke, Watson and now Bellingham.
Thank you for everything Jobe, See you in the Champions League next season when Sunderland Finish 3rd in the upcoming season.
